Meetings are held every other Monday in Union meeting room 3510 at 8PM.
Next meeting is on 11/15/2010 in Union 3510.
If you are interested in amateur radio, and would like to take the exam, the Albany/Troy VE Team (ATVET) stands ready to assist. ATVET is a joint effort of the Albany Amateur Radio Association (AARA), and the Troy Amateur Radio Association (TARA). We are affiliated with the ARRL/VEC, and have been proud to provide testing opportunities since 1984. And beginning in February of 2009 we will be offering new license exams and upgrade exams for all license classes.
Exams are held in CII 3045. Doors open at 9:20 am, and exams begin at 10:00 am. The 2010 Exam Fee is $15.00, either cash or check (payable to ARRL-VEC).
Make sure you bring two proofs of identification, with one being a picture ID. Also bring all of your original documentation (current license, CSCEs...etc.), along with photocopies, calculators, pens and pencils to the exam session. Candidates should bring their Social Security numbers to place on the application form (FCC Form 605). The Social Security Number is required to register in ULS and CORES. Anyone needing special handicap arrangements is asked to call in advance. The CII Building is handicapped accessible.
